Spectrum collocates with Minneapolis-area toolmaker

Minneapolis injection molder Spectrum Plastics Group is teaming with a toolmaker to collocate toolmaking within its own molding operations.

Spectrum said a business agreement with the mold maker does not allow the company to divulge the toolmaker’s name, but noted that it is located in the Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn., area, and that the alliance will aid in quick development of new projects.

“We are now able to quickly respond to tool modifications, revision changes, and new tool builds,” said Doug Johnson, general manager for Spectrum Plastics Group’s Minnesota division, in an Aug. 28 news release.

The move means Spectrum has in-house tooling capabilities at all three of its manufacturing sites — in Minneapolis; Ansonia, Conn., and Brewster, N.Y. — said President and CEO Randy Ahlm.

Both the molder and the mold maker will continue as independent operations, but the collocation will place tooling support alongside production, allowing for faster responses to Spectrum’s customers in the medical, aerospace, defense and precision industrial industries.

Broad-based Chinese plastics firm Cosmos Machinery Enterprises Ltd. has closed an appliance and electronics molding factory in Wuxi, China, as tougher economic conditions sharply cut sales and pushed the company into a small loss in the first half of the year.

The Hong Kong-based company, which has diverse units that make injection molding and extrusion equipment, mold plastic products and manufacture printed circuit boards, saw its overall sales drop 21 percent to HK$1 billion (US$128.9 million) on a loss of HK$2.49 million (US$321,000).

But the company told the Hong Kong stock market that while the market remains uncertain it’s hopeful of a rebound in the second half, as new product development and cost controls begin to show results and looser monetary policy in China brings more growth to some industries.

“The board of directors is confident that all businesses of the group will recover from the adversity soon,” it said.

The company disclosed in the filing that it decided in early 2012 to close its plastics processing factory in Wuxi and focus those resources on a new plant nearby in Hefei, Anhui province, which is designed to take advantage of Hefei’s growth as a center of manufacturing household appliances.

It said that while it’s been hurt by a weaker household appliance market in China, it expected business in Hefei to be “greatly improved” in the second half as the market picks up and it can take advantage of efficiencies in the new facility.

Its plastics processing unit saw sales drop 41 percent in the first half of the year, to HK$152.2 million.

But the company said some parts of its processing business did well, including food packaging, cutlery and containers with in-mold labeling. Exports of disposable cutlery to Japan in particular increased.

The company is also one of China’s larger makers of injection molding machines, and plastic equipment is its largest single business unit, accounting for about 45 percent of total sales.

That unit fared better than plastic products, although its sales were still down 22 percent to HK$450 million. It posted a small profit of HK$10.5 million.

The debt crisis in Europe and a slowdown in China “depressed” investment in equipment and some customers delayed orders because of financing difficulties, Cosmos said.

“The oversupply of general injection molding machines in the market exacerbated the vicious competition, which also extended to servo-drive energy-saving injection molding machines,” it said.

The firm said it was hopeful new product development would boost sales, including a new U(J) Se series of ultra-large shot injection machines up to 4,000 metric tons clamping force, aimed at infrastructure markets like pipe fittings and manhole covers.

It also said it developed a new electric-hybrid machine, the Greenline 98, that is the first electric press to pass China’s GB 22530-2008 safety standard for rubber and plastics injection molding machines.

It said the machine is China’s first servo-driven hybrid with kinetic pressurized clamping, which saves on replacing screw assemblies and is 20 percent faster than other machines in its class.

Update on The Husky Haul

The new football year is now beneath than a anniversary away. This division looks to be able in abounding ways, some of the big time aptitude is back, added positions accept been reloaded, there are new coaches calling the shots. Excitement is in the air for Husky Nation.

This is not an altercation for xenophobia, but alone to point out the admeasurement of Israeli high-tech’s failure. This country’s one accomplishment is innovation; the others that accomplish for a advancing abridgement of acceptable bread-and-butter advance abilities in management, business and manufacturing, to name a few abide to baffle us, even in the industry that is declared to be our aliment and butter. No Israeli technology aggregation can bout the size, calibration and admeasurement of the operations of a baby arm of a individual U.S. multinational.

It’s not that we should be aggravating to body our own Intels, at atomic not companies as massive as Intel and its peers. Israel just doesn’t accept the raw humans ability to bout Intel globally, abundant beneath aspire to beat it. The U.S. aggregation employs added than 100,000 humans and had a about-face of $54 billion endure year.

But we should be able to advance a clamp of our own mini-Intels by architecture companies that accept revenues in the billions and payrolls in the thousands.

State approves West Michigan Bread-and-butter Partnership

The Next Michigan acceding for West Michigan was put calm by two bread-and-butter development organizations in the region, Grand Rapids-based The Right Place and Muskegon Area First. Muskegon bread-and-butter developers achievement the new affiliation and accompaniment incentives will bang alpha anchorage developments on Muskegon Lake and potentially added key properties.

“The added akin of intergovernmental accord amid the counties and municipalities in West Michigan is the aboriginal of its affectionate in the region,” said Ed Garner, admiral of Muskegon Area First. “This new affiliation amid Muskegon and Kent counties will accessible new doors for investment, jobs and advance throughout the region.”

The accommodating communities and acceptable companies may be able to use added acreage and investment incentives offered by the accompaniment to the West Michigan Bread-and-butter Affiliation and four added bounded groups beyond the state.

West Michigan ability accept been the endure of 5 Next Michigan partnerships to be approved, but Garner said that the plan done by bread-and-butter developers in establishing the bounded collaborative will acquiesce the new alignment to bound activate the absolute plan of anecdotic backdrop and business them to clandestine companies.

A bounded adumbrative from anniversary accommodating assemblage of government will be appointed by anniversary administering physique to serve on a anew created bounded board. Besides the two counties and city-limits of Muskegon, antecedent affiliation associates cover the cities of Grand Rapids, Kentwood and Wyoming and Cascade Charter Township.

The board’s next footfall will be to authorize a allotment archetypal and analyze specific backdrop that accommodate the two or added modes of busline appropriate to be eligible, such as air services, artery access, abuse spurs and anchorage facilities, organizers said.

The West Michigan Bread-and-butter Affiliation organizers accept articular backdrop such as Wyoming’s Site36, areas abreast the Gerald R. Ford International Airport and beach sites on Muskegon Lake with admission to Muskegon’s deep-water port.

Some of the age-old tributes to the acclaimed - life-sized recreations fabricated from wax - abide accepted in countries all about the world. In California, admirers can adore Hollywood Wax Building versions of A-list stars Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. In New York, they can appointment Madame Tussauds to admix with wax superheroes like Spiderman and the Incredible Hulk; or even align for their adolescence to affair afterwards brawl with look-alikes of the famous-for-being famous, such as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian.

You don’t accept to go to a building to see the famous, just attending at grocery shelves and you’ll acquisition acclaimed faces gracing artefact packaging. For admirers of rising-star Gabby Douglas, gold advocate in women's all-around gymnastics during the London games, Kellogg’s has already immortalized her on its Corn Flakes box.

Honoring the acclaimed dates aback to age-old times if citizens erected statues of the Greek and Roman gods, as able-bodied as Olympians. Some things never change. As society’s allure with celebrities continues to grow, one affair is for certain: today’s tributes are as different as the cultural icons that aggressive them.

Clayton array for medalists is well-deserved

What are the allowance that a California boondocks of 11,000 humans would be planning a array to account one of its own as an Olympic medalist? Since journalists are awfully bad at math, we will barrier that one and just say that they are, well, appealing high.

Now accede the allowance of such a boondocks ... oh, say, maybe, the East Bay's actual own Clayton ... accepting such a array to account TWO Olympic medalists in its midst. From the aforementioned Olympics, no less. Well, we don't anticipate our calculators go that high, so we will stick with the estimated appellation astronomical.

Yet, on Sept. 15 that is absolutely what is traveling to action in this bizarre little city-limits nestled in the adumbration of Mount Diablo. Yes, Clayton is planning a array to account and acceptable home its latest Olympians Kara Kohler and Kristian Ipsen. Each won a brownish badge in the contempo London Games.

And, accept us, if it comes to throwing a parade, Clayton knows what it is doing. It's allegorical July 4 array is the apotheosis of participatory events. If you reside in Clayton and are in boondocks on July 4, you are either in the array or on the sidelines watching it. The city-limits couldn't get added humans out even if it anesthetized a city-limits authorization acute attendance.

But we brainstorm that no such authorization will be appropriate for this parade. Ipsen and Kohler are boondocks heroes as the aggregation of adulatory signs dotting the city-limits mural will attest. They accept done their nation, their canton and, especially, their hometown proud.

Kohler, a 21-year-old rower at Cal as able-bodied as a Clayton Valley Top graduate, won the brownish while canoeing in the women's quadruple sculls in a blood-tingling performance.

Then, on the aforementioned day (again, what are the odds?), Ipsen won the brownish in the men's synchronized 3-meter springboard event. Ipsen is a 19-year-old De La Salle Top alum and a Stanford University diver. He is aswell the youngest diver on this year's U.S. team, which would accomplish him an accomplished 23-year-old diver in 2016 if the Rio de Janeiro amateur cycle around. Hey, no pressure, we're just sayin'.

The array begins at 5 p.m. at Oak Artery in city-limits Clayton and will bisect Main Street, angle assimilate Marsh Creek Road and end at The Grove, which is the city's air-conditioned little city-limits park.

The two athletes will accept the accepted array perches of account on the backs of convertibles applique boring down the street. They again will be advised to speeches, awards and even a concert in the park. But the top point of the black will be the presentation of the key to the city, something that no added Clayton citizen has anytime received.

Q&A With Patrik Regardh

As adaptable technology continues to appearance the way we coact globally, Ericsson, the world’s bigger maker of adaptable telecommunications equipment, is redefining its admission to innovation.

It’s not the aboriginal time the Stockholm, Sweden-based aggregation has afflicted with the times. The aggregation was founded in 1876 as a telegraph accessories adjustment shop. As technology advanced, the aggregation confused into blast exchanges and eventually adaptable telecom. Innovative artefact development has helped backpack the aggregation through those evolutions from introducing the world’s aboriginal absolutely automated adaptable blast arrangement in 1956 to an aboriginal hands-free speakerphone in the 1960s to inventing the Bluetooth accepted in 1994.

In a contempo interview, Ericsson’s arch of cardinal marketing, Patrik Regardh, talked about how the aggregation has afflicted its admission to addition to acclimate with the times and the abashing curve amid our concrete and agenda worlds.

We’re starting to see some cogent changes. In the endure decade, we saw humans interacting with the apple application accoutrement that they didn’t accept before. It is absolutely starting to appearance the way in which we accurate ourselves as people, the way we collaborate, the way we allotment and advance our relationships.

In the endure brace of years at Ericsson, we accept broadened our angle on how our technologies and our industry are impacting society. We accept added our focus on compassionate how our technologies coact with changes that we see accident in society.

For us, addition has confused badly from a bankrupt technology archetypal to abundant added of a networked and accessible model. It is aswell actual abundant about accommodating and accepting activating so we can appear out with bigger solutions for the future. It acclimated to be that technology would advance consumers. Today, consumers are added in control, and technology is added of a catchall.

Technology can yield abroad a lot of barriers in agreement of accepting admission to information, and this is a actual hopeful befalling in agreement of adopting bookish capacity. Look at education, which I anticipate is an breadth area we see what I would alarm cultural changes. Advice and technology accept brought us to the point area we can see that the amount abstraction of what it agency to be abstruse has changed. You don’t charge the accomplishment sets of canonizing a lot of things if you accept advice readily available.

In a agnate way, we aswell see that advice and technology can rationalize, adapt or change the way in which acquirements in fact happens, authoritative it beneath of a beeline exercise. It is alive from educating to learning, authoritative it abundant added of a claimed experience. We can see altered facets of learning, which is added tailored or geared against the way which your academician works.

Today, we see added universities starting to go online with a lot of their programs. And we aswell see that technology can accompany acquirements into the locations of association that ahead may not accept been served by education.

Smartphones accompany a new aspect of accepting absolutely always-on. With smartphones you alpha to see behaviors in agreement of application technology in added of a connected flow. We apperceive that almost a third of smartphone users alpha application the buzz in bed if they deathwatch up, and they don’t stop application it until they’re aback in the bed to sleep. Humans tend to use the Internet a little bit beneath about dinnertime. Dinner seems to be something which is still in the absolute world, but a lot of the added aspects of activity accept afresh confused into the Internet.

This could bell in agreement of how you see the barriers amid what is concrete and the agenda world. Maybe we shouldn’t allocution so abnormally about the absolute apple and the agenda apple because they are both realities, abnormally if humans are adaptable and interlinked. This will appulse concepts like buying and integrity. They will become awful important, added than they acclimated to be. From the customer point of view, some of the change has occurred amid the device, network, applications, the billow and how humans assurance them. Can I assurance that it works? Is it simple to use? Is it accessible if I charge it? These are people’s concerns.

Transvestite killer becomes a lawn bowler

Douglas McCaul was 23 when he strangled and stomped on Carol Lynn Millar until she was dead and then dumped her half-naked body in a leaf trough in Alexander Muir Park. Three days later, the transvestite returned to her frozen corpse and tried to dress her in his sister’s pantyhose.

He decided against having sex with the dead body, but was so aroused that police would find his semen stain on the stockings.

The 1976 murder was not the first for the cross-dresser who would be declared not guilty by reason of insanity. It was during his first years locked up at Penetang that he confessed to an earlier unsolved slaying: the 1970 brutal stabbing of Archie McDougall, a custodian at the Loretto Abbey private girls school. After McCaul had an angry fight with his father, he took out his anger on the stranger, plunging a knife repeatedly into his body and slicing off his ear and a finger.

Now is this the kind of man you’d like on your genteel lawn bowling club?

McCaul, 58, is a current resident of the medium security Brockville Mental Health Centre where, dressed in ladies’ clothes, he is considered well-behaved, belongs to the patient council and runs his own sewing business. Last year, he petitioned the Ontario Review Board to release him to a Brockville group home but they wisely turned him down, saying he remains a “significant threat to the safety of the public.”

But they did agree to allow him to now venture into town unescorted, despite his diagnosis of a “severe” anti-social personality disorder and more concerning, his scoring as a very high risk to reoffend with a sex crime.

No matter. McCaul can be seen tooling around the community on his electric bike or hanging around the lawn bowlers playing three times a week on the hospital’s expansive grounds.

After years of watching, he asked them if he could join.

The members knew he was a resident of the mental hospital, but nothing more. They wanted to be inclusive and said it would be fine as long as he received the go-ahead from his doctors. In the spring, McCaul turned up with the permission letter in hand.

When some of the members gently inquired as to why he was an psych inmate, McCaul would say only that he had done “something very bad” a long time ago. He explained that he must call in to his supervisors every hour and turn in by 9 p.m. But come the fall, he starts work at a local fast food restaurant.

Polite and helpful, he still gave some of the women a strange vibe. One member grew curious and decided to Google McCaul’s name.

Imagine his shock when the insane killer’s violent history appeared before him.

Sun columnist Mark Bonokoski had long chronicled McCaul’s psycho past: Despite his confession, McCaul was never tried for his second murder because he was already considered criminally insane, or “not criminally responsible” as it’s now known. In 1981, he was transferred from Penetang to the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital and five years later, was discharged into the community.

But in 1987, a Burlington woman was attacked and McCaul was under arrest for attempted murder. Later acquitted by a jury, he was shipped back to Penetang because he was considered a high risk to reoffend.

Fast forward to 2009 and he’s managed to win a transfer to the medium security Brockville site and three years later, the double murderer is out and about the town and bowling with a group of unsuspecting players.

“We were horrified,” says one of the lawn bowlers, who doesn’t want their name published. “I don’t know how cured these people are. There’s a lot of single, older women who live alone in our club. He has our names. He has our addresses. It’s really scary. How can a man like this be out in the community? How can he have changed so much?”

When they brought their concerns to the police, they were told it was out of their hands. “Doesn’t the public have a right to know?” asks the player. “Is his privacy more important than ours?”

China Accuses the US of Interference

Chinese state-run media ratcheted up criticisms of the U.S. Tuesday over tensions in the South China Sea, with the Communist Party's top bi-weekly – People's Daily Online – cogent Washington that it is "stirring up troubles".

The Chinese Adopted Ministry accursed a U.S. State Department account arise on August 3, 2012, that said Washington was carefully ecology territorial disputes in the South China Sea, and that China's enactment of a aggressive billet in the breadth may advance to "further ascent tensions in the region".

"We are anxious by the access in tensions in the South China Sea and are ecology the bearings closely," the U.S. Department of State Acting Deputy Spokesperson Patrick Ventrell said in the statement. "In particular, China's advance of the authoritative akin of Sansha City-limits and enactment of a new aggressive billet there accoutrement acknowledged areas of the South China Sea run adverse to collaborative adept efforts to boldness differences and accident added ascent tensions in the region," Ventrell added.

Ventrell was apropos to the advance of Sansha’s cachet to a prefecture-level city-limits in the arena of Hainan, which took abode on July 24, 2012. It nominally administers several acknowledged island groups and undersea atolls – which are possibly oil and gas ability affluent – in the South China Sea, absolute the Spratly Islands, the Paracel Islands as able-bodied as the Macclesfield Bank.

The account issued by the U.S. Department of State has "completely abandoned the facts [and] advisedly ashamed appropriate and wrong," China's Adopted Ministry agent Qin Gang said in a account on August 4, 2012. "Setting up Sansha city-limits … is absolutely aural China's sovereignty," Qin added.

The circuitous of battling territorial claims in the South China Sea has become Asia's affliction abeyant aggressive flashpoint. The territorial standoffs – mainly amid China, Vietnam and the Philippines – accept been at best afraid in the past; however, they arise to accept accomplished a point of near-military battle this year.

In April this year, the Philippines got into a row with China if it spotted Chinese fishing boats forth the bank of the Scarborough Shoal, an aftereffect of rocks in the South China Sea which both countries affirmation breadth over. President Benigno Aquino said in a account on July 2, 2012, that the Philippines could abode a appeal to the United States to arrange US P3C Orion spy planes over the South China Sea to advice it bigger badge the region.

Meanwhile, afore its access with the Philippines could be resolved, state-backed CNOOC on June 25, 2012, appear it would accessible nine adopted blocks in the South China Sea for collective cooperation with adopted companies. Seven of the adopted blocks are sited in the Zhongjianan Basin, while two are amid in areas accoutrement the Wan'an Basin and the Nanweixi Basin. Vietnam lays affirmation to all of these adopted blocks as well. The altercation over the nine adopted blocks, acceptable in allotment affiliated to antecedent tensions amid the two countries, led to Vietnam's advertisement of a account on June 30, 2012 that "condemns CNOOC's action". China responded with a concerted barrage of four combat-ready convoying ships to the acknowledged breadth on July 1, 2012.

Chromalloy advance $6 actor to advance Carson City plant

An all-encompassing advance of Chromalloy Gas Agent LLCs' Arrowhead Drive adeptness in Carson City will aftereffect in abundantly bigger operating adeptness and lower turnaround times that could accessible doors to new curve of business, says General Manager Nat Love.

Workers at the 192,000-square-foot adeptness adjustment circuitous high-pressure apparatus from gas agent engines begin in the bartering aerospace, aggressive and activity industries. Chromalloy's all-around chump abject includes audience in North and Latin America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The adeptness is one of the few that casts asperous abstracts from raw ingots and produces accomplished apparatus such as fan blades that are accessible for accession into agent engines, Love says.

Improving the adeptness of the superalloy basic branch and the all-embracing flow-through of locations during the accomplishment action is at the affection of the proposed $6 actor advance plan.

For instance: From alpha to finish, locations biking about 2.5 afar through the factory. Once the advance is complete that ambit will be bargain to a division mile.

First up, though, is to adapt the foundries at the adeptness that are acclimated to casting locations from raw ingots. Currently there are 17 furnaces at the site, but that amount will be bargain to 13.

The new branch blueprint and the added capabilities of the furnaces are the aboriginal footfall in convalescent operational workflow and abbreviation atom waste, Love says.

“The primary drive abaft the accomplishment we are adventure is to lay out the branch in a address that is finer enabling us to abate decay and advance the acceleration of throughput including crop and atom numbers,” he says. “In any branch process, scrap/yield are two of the above drivers in that allocation of the business. Our actual ambition is to absolutely get a action for our accomplishment improvements to access acceleration and abate atom crop and accept abundant bigger breeze through the facility.”

The new, beyond furnaces acquiesce for college accommodation and aswell access the amount and admeasurement of the locations Chromalloy can produce. With the accepted molds in use, workers can aftermath just four pieces of accessories at a time. The new furnaces can board beyond molds that can casting 12 to 16 parts.

Work on the branch is accepted to amount about $4 actor and be completed in September or October. Following that is a branch advancement on the accessories the aggregation uses to machine, laser-drill, calefaction amusement and covering the locations it casts. Advance plan on the branch is accepted to blanket up abreast the end of the aboriginal division of 2013.

Once the improvements are in place, Chromalloy can abate turnaround times for adjustment plan and locations from 20 or added canicule to 14 days, Love says. That, in turn, will accord the aggregation a aggressive bend that could advance to added or absolutely new avenues of business for Chromalloy. “When you attending at the adeptness that we accept here, and the abridgement in the turnaround times, several things should happen,” Love says. “There will be added appeal for our articles because of bigger consistency, on-time supply and bigger yields over our competition. The after-effects should be an aperture up of the market. That could be aural our absolute chump abject and absolute markets and regions, but of advance the article is to augment that ambit and accessible up added forms with engines we don't participate in at this time.”

Love doesn't apprehend the aggregation will add to its agents initially, but an access in business or new business channels absolutely could aftereffect in added hiring, he says.

“There is no agreement of added jobs from the approaching branch and manufacturing; however, the aftereffect to our barter and the bazaar segments we can participate in and achievement to aggrandize on, accumulated with the added appeal and admiration for our locations aural the industry hopefully could aftereffect in added jobs.”

The hardest allotment of commutual the plan is to abide active at top acceleration while demography acute accessories offline, Love says.

“This is a absolutely functioning, high-tech, high-demand adeptness we are aggravating to advancement after black our absolute chump base,” he says.

The advance was spurred by the company's charge to operational excellence, Love says. Management acclimated a acrimonious development and clay affairs to yield a harder attending at its operations and products. The after-effects were acclimated to defended centralized allotment for the changes, he says.

Willington artist completes Old State House project

In 1996, Willington resident and sculptor Randall Nelson was commissioned to design and cast eight, gold-leafed statues for installation at Connecticut's Old State House in Hartford. The work involved in creating each statue was detailed and lengthy. After consulting art history books to make sure his statues were depicted in an historically accurate manner, Nelson developed the molds, cast the core of each statue, removed air bubbles created by the hardening process and sanded each piece, to which gold leaf was then applied.

After one of those statues, the figure of Gov. Jonathan Trumbull, was irreparably damaged in 2010 when a vehicle struck the flag pole to which it was attached, Nelson was again commissioned to re-cast that figure. Nelson started his recreation of Trumbull several months ago and finished it a few weeks ago. He explained that it takes a long time to smooth out a cast's imperfections so that the gold leaf can be applied.

“It also cost me $1,000 more for the gold leafing than the original estimate I received,” said Nelson, citing the rapid rise in gold prices as the primary reason. “It sat in my studio, gold-leafed, for about three weeks,” said Nelson, who added that it felt “very good to get that project done with. It was very nerve wracking having that thing finished sitting in my shop.” Nelson, who said that the gold is fragile and subject to being scratched, was concerned that the statue would get bumped or damaged before it was placed on the flag pole. Ultimately, the Trumbull statue successfully completed its journey.

During a ceremony on Saturday, July 14, Nelson boarded a cherry picker to complete the installation process. The Trumbull statue was recreated in human fashion by Connecticut Old State House Coordinator of Group and Interpretive Services Ronald Bolin, who, dressed as Gov. Trumbull, carried a basket of food as depicted in the sculpture. Nelson said that very few people attended the ceremony, but passers-by stopped to watch the activity.

Other statues of historical figures cast by Nelson and displayed at the Old State House include Capt. Adrian Block, Joseph Cinqué, Prudence Crandall, Marquis de Lafayette, Capt. Joseph Wadsworth, Gen. George Washington and Roger Wolcott.

Due to time restrictions, Nelson said that officials did not want him to spend time checking the condition of the seven other statues on July 14, although Nelson said he noticed that the tops of the statues are covered in bird droppings. “It looks like they have powdered wigs on now,” quipped Nelson.

Currently, Nelson is on a restoration project in mid-town Manhattan. He is a native of Mississippi who attended Pratt Institute School of Art and Design in Brooklyn. He also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree. In addition to being a sculptor, he teaches art at Quinebaug Valley Community College.
